Day 16: Jorhat to Mon

Day 17: Mon to Lungwa & back

Day 18 : Mon to Majuli

Day 19 Majuli to Guwahati

The drive from Jorhat to Mon village takes us through lush Assam tea gardens to Sonari, before crossing into Nagaland. The journey continues on narrow winding roads through forested hills and traditional Konyak villages, offering glimpses of tribal life and scenic valley views..

Lungwa is a unique Konyak tribe Naga village straddling the India–Myanmar border. The Angh’s (Village Chief) house itself stands half in India and half in Myanmar, symbolizing its dual-country presence. Lungwa villagers enjoy a rare form of dual citizenship and maintain vibrant cross-border community ties, continuing centuries-old traditions and cultural cohesion.

We will head back from Nagaland, to Assam (Majuli) via Bogibeel bridge which is a massive, single-span double-decker bridge over the Brahmaputra. We will then reach Majuli island which is renowned for its 15th-century Vaishnavite monasteries called Satras, which preserve art, dance, music, and spiritual traditions of Assam..

From Majuli, we will take the ferry to cross the mighty Brahmaputra river. Thereafter it will be an easy drive which will once again pass through Kaziranga National Park. Our trip ends here and you may like to take night flights out of Guwahati.

Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati

Arrive at Guwahati by early flights and head to Umananda Island to visit the temple, enjoying the scenic beauty of the Brahmaputra River. Check into your hotel and relax before heading out on a delightful dinner cruise, in the Brahmaputra river  in the evening

Day 2: Guwahati to Shillong

Visit Kamakhya Temple early in the morning and then drive to Shillong. After  a stop for boating at Umiam Lake, we would reach Shillong by evening. After checking into your hotel, explore Shillong Market. Explore the exotic restaurants and cafes of ‘Police Bazar’ for dinner.

Day 3: Shillong to Cherrapunji

Start your day after breakfast with a visit to the Elephant Falls, then take a scenic detour through the Mawphlang Forest. You can explore the serene forest on foot. Get back to your hotel for a quiet dinner and night stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 4: Cherrapunji local sightseeing

Explore the famous Garden of Caves, Arwah Cave, and enjoy the stunning Nohkalikai Falls and Seven Sister Falls, followed by a visit to Dainthlen Falls. Take in the natural beauty of Cherrapunji.

Day 5: Cherrapunji local sightseeing

After breakfast, enjoy a trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, a unique and picturesque natural marvel. Spend your day exploring the area before returning to your hotel for the night. Enjoy a peaceful evening in Cherrapunji.

Day 6: Cherrapunji to Dawki

Start your day with breakfast and head to Dawki (known for its crystal clear water) where you can indulge in boating or snorkeling in the pristine Dawki River. Afterward, check into your hotel in Dawki, and unwind in this serene environment.

Day 7: Dawki to Shillong

After breakfast, visit the clean and picturesque Mawlynnong Village, known as the "cleanest village in Asia." Enjoy lunch in Shillong before retiring to your hotel for an overnight stay. Explore the vibrant culture of Shillong in the evening.

Day 8: Shillong to Kaziranga

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Kaziranga. Stop for lunch along the way and savor authentic Assamese cuisine. In the evening, Check into your hotel and attend an Assamese cultural program at Kaziranga.

Day 9: Kaziranga wild life safaris

Start early with an exciting elephant safari in Kaziranga National Park, where you can view the Rhinos and Elephants in the natural habitat.  After breakfast, you can explore more of the national park by a jeep safari. Visit the Orchid park where you can also enjoy a sumptuous Assamese Lunch.

Day 10: Kaziranga to Dirang

After Kaziranga, we head out to explore the mountains. Starting out on the road to  Dirang and you will start to experience the hills towards the second half of your drive. Check in to your hotel in Dirang for a comfortable night stay.

Day 11. Dirang Local Sightseeing

A drive to Mandala Top, a mountain pass, will give you breathtaking views of the mountains which are home to more than 300 species of birds. As you return, drive to the picturesque Sangti Valley meadows along the river. Do not miss visiting the Dirang Dzong and monastery.

Day 12: Dirang to Tawang

Starting from Dirang, we will cross Sela Pass which will offer you a magnificent view of the Sela lake. On the way we will stop at Jaswantgarh war memorial, which has such a valiant history from the 1962 war. The drive is scenic, all the way to Tawang.

Day 13. Tawang

Bum La pass, at 15,200 feet on the Indo-China border, offers stunning views of snow-clad peaks and deep historical significance. Nearby, Sangetsar Lake, or Madhuri Lake, mesmerises visitors with its submerged tree trunks and serene turquoise waters surrounded by mountains. Get back to Tawang to visit the war memorial and Urgelling Monastery.

Day 14: Tawang to Bomdila

You may start the day with a visit to Tawang Monastery, before heading out to the plains of Assam. We will once again cross Sela Pass before reaching Bomdila.

Day 15: Bomdila to Jorhat

Visit Bomdila Monastery in the morning before heading out. We will be travelling back to the plains and cross over Brahmaputra river to reach Jorhat for a night halt.
